1 Day Sightseeing Tours from Glasgow with Rabbies
Day-long Tours in the Scottish Highlands a 5-star rating
The selection of Rabbies sightseeing tours available from Glasgow is more limited than the ones from Edinburgh. Unlike Edinburgh where there are 6 day tours and many multi-day trips and longer tours departing from the Scottish Capital, there is a choice of only three one day Highland tours from Glasgow. There are also no sightseeing tours from Glasgow to the Scottish Borders or to Fife either.

With Glasgow being closer to the West Highlands than Edinburgh is, the tours departing from here can include sights and places not as easy to reach with one day tours from Edinburgh.
One prime example is the harbour town of Oban on the west coast of Scotland, with its gorgeous bay busy with fishing boats and ferries departing and arriving from Scotland's islands. There is also the potential to spend more time off the tour bus.
The Rabbies Highlands tours itineraries:
- Oban, Glencoe, West Highland Lochs & Castles Day Tour from Glasgow - My top choice for a day tour from Glasgow because of its itinerary. This tour takes you through gorgeous Highland scenery as well as along the beautiful West Coast of Scotland and includes two of the most picturesque castles in Scotland: Kilchurn Castle and Castle Stalker.
- Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands Day Tour From Glasgow - This is THE tour to take for those wanting to travel from Glasgow to Loch Ness in the Highlands. It takes you through the beautiful Rannoch Moor and Glencoe areas and allows for time for a Loch Ness boat cruise.
- Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond National Park & Whisky Tour from Glasgow - A relaxing scenery and whisky tour in the Trossachs area of Scotland with Loch Lomond and the imposing Stirling Castle as highlights.
Tour Duration: 9 to 12 hours
Tour Dates and Times: All Rabbies Highland day tours with departure from Glasgow run all year long. The Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond National Park & Whisky Tour runs every day, the Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands Day Tour runs every day except Monday and the Oban, Glencoe, West Highland Lochs & Castles Day Tour runs only 2 days a week (Monday and Thursday). There are plenty of midweek, Friday and weekend tour dates.
Which Rabbies One Day Tour to take from Glasgow?
I often get asked to recommend a particular day tour because to tourists all itineraries look so very similar and equally appealing. Though not Scottish myself, I have travelled extensively around Scotland and have been on many tours with various Scottish tour operators which means I can make good recommendations.
To answer the question 'what day tour to take from Glasgow' we first need to look at the itineraries. There is some slight overlapping between the three Highlands tours organised by Rabbies but each of them was designed to explore a different part of the Scottish Highlands. Having said that, Loch Lomond, Stirling and Glencoe are common stops on two out of the three tours available.
My recommendation is to take the Oban, Glencoe, West Highland Lochs & Castles Day Tour which includes an extremely varied itinerary. This tour takes you through the impressive Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, to the picturesque harbour town of Oban and includes two of my favourite castles: Castle Stalker and Kilchurn Castle. It is ideal for first-time visitors to Scotland but also for those who want to revisit some of the gorgeous Scottish scenery.
