Photos of Port Ellen, south coast of Islay
About Port Ellen
Port Ellen is the second largest town on Islay after Bowmore. It provides the main transport link to mainland Scotland via regular ferry crossings to Kennacraig. It is a beautiful little town with great views across Traighgeisger Bay and Loch Leodamais. It has its own maltings and no less than 3 distilleries in its immediate vicinity (Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg).
