About Loch Eilt

Loch Eilt is one of the lochs along the Road to the Isles, the scenic route linking Fort William to Mallaig, on the west coast of Scotland. It's tiny islets covered in ancient Caledonian pine trees make it particularly scenic. It was used as a filming location in Harry Potter. Loch Eilt is not easy to photograph, especially given the busy road with limited viewpoints along its north shore. The best views of Loch Eilt and its islands are from the railway which runs along its southern shore.
