Pictures of Leith, (the Docks) in Edinburgh
Leith is an area of Edinburgh with little to no tourist attention (if you don't count the Ocean Terminal shopping center). It is mostly an industrial area as docks usually are but at the same time it is a lovely area of Edinburgh.
There is however one well known tourist attraction located in Leith: the Royal Yacht Britannia The Port of Leith now welcomes liners more than ever before through its newly built Ocean Terminal.
Old pier in Leith It is obviously unstable to walk on but it's safe to sit aside and watch the cormorans flying.
The famous Royal Yacht Britannia In the back there is another liner, although temporary.
If you feel like walking around, hearing the seagulls and filling your naustrills with the sea weed smell then this is a great place to spend an afternoon. The harbour area is a particularly nice area.
There are still remains of the past in Leith: the old piers now populated with cormorans remind us of the Victorian era. Nowadays it's hard to tell which dock is which partly because the Old Dock has changed. The Victoria Dock, the Albert Dock and the Edinburgh Dock are fairly intact from the way they used to be.
