Pictures of East Lothian, North Berwick

North Berwick is the only place I've visited in East Lothian but it gave me an unique experience. North Berwick is rich in what it can give its visitors. It is a beautiful beach from where you can admire yachts and boats as well as rocks in the sea such as Fidra further inside the Firth of Forth There is a lighthouse on Fidra.

The most amazing thing North Berwick has to offer is the Bass Rock The Bass Rock is a rock situated where the Firth connects with the sea. It is well known for being a seabirds colony. This explains why the Bass Rock is so white when the sun is shining. In North Berwick there's the famouse Seabird Centre. There used to be a fort on the Bass Rock and it now has a lighthouse.

Tantallon Castle is the closest point on the shore to the Bass Rock. Just about a mile and a half. The castle is now a ruin but it provides an amazing view of the Bass Rock.

The beach in North Berwick has many smaller rocks, probably they all have the same origin as the Bass Rock.

The Bass Rock is situated a few miles from the shore and yet looks so lonely in this picture.

This is nearly all that's left of Tantallon. People come here to enjoy the peace and quiet of a ruined castle and enjoy the view.

Tantallon Castle is the closest point on shore to the Bass Rock. There are boats services that can get to the rock.

The Castle was under reparations. It is severely damaged which is a pity as its location is outstanding and impressive.
